    Hi Abdelhak,

I am very sorry you lost access to hours of work. We have preserved your attached Drawing1.dwg and screenshot and are treating this as an urgent data-loss report.

We reproduced a serious saving bug in Nasjicad 1.0.37: saving while a Layout tab is active can write the active paper-space objects instead of the model drawing. This is consistent with your file and its preview, although we still need your local copies to confirm the full sequence. We are fixing the save path and adding stronger recovery protection.

Your uploaded DWG contains no model-space drawing objects. Its preview image is not enough to reconstruct your work accurately, so we cannot honestly attach a complete recovered drawing yet. The best recovery candidates are the separate versions on your Windows computer.

Please follow these steps in order:

    1. Preserve the recovery data first. Do not overwrite Drawing1.dwg, uninstall/reset Nasjicad, clear its application data, or remove saved versions. Press Win+R, enter %APPDATA%, and look for the nasjicad folder. Copy the whole folder somewhere safe, especially the versions and dwg-doc-cache subfolders. Work from the copy when sending files to us.

    2. If the original drawing is still open and visible in any Nasjicad window, keep it open. Select the Model tab at the bottom first. Use Save As and choose a NEW filename, such as Drawing1-recovery.njc. Also save a separate DWG from Model. Do not replace your original file. Check the new copy in another tab before closing the original.

    3. In the same Windows installation, click the Files / folder icon on the right-hand sidebar. Expand Drawing1 and inspect its saved versions and autosaves. Start with a version before the drawing became empty. Our save records show a non-empty save at 08:23 UTC on 26 September, followed by saves at 08:46 UTC that reported zero active-space objects; use your local time when comparing entries. Try several earlier copies if necessary, because a copy made while Layout was active can have the same bug.

    4. Each version opens separately. If the drawing is present, select Model and save it under a new filename. Check its layers, overall extents, and the missing drainage/site details against your screenshot. Keep the original backup folder unchanged.

    5. If the Files list is empty or none of the listed copies is complete, the raw .njc files may still exist inside versions. Please tell us what you find. We can also inspect the relevant Drawing1 files from dwg-doc-cache. Do not upload the whole application folder publicly: it may contain other projects and account data. You can attach only the Drawing1 .njc backup to this report if it is suitable to share publicly, or email the relevant project backup privately to [email protected] and mention this report. Do not send login tokens, passwords, or unrelated projects.

Please tell us which version opens and whether the last save was made from Model or a Layout tab. We will inspect any project backup you provide, recover what is actually present, and verify it before returning a recovered DWG. We will keep this report open while recovery is unresolved.

    Hi Abdelhak,

We have attached NASJI-Local-Recovery.zip to make finding the right backup easier. This is a recovery helper, not a recovered drawing.

    1. First preserve a copy of %APPDATA%\nasjicad\versions and dwg-doc-cache, as described above.
    2. Extract the attached ZIP and double-click NASJI-Recovery.html in Chrome or Edge. It works offline: it does not upload, delete or overwrite your files.
    3. Choose your copied versions folder, or individual .njc backups. The helper lists the drawing name, date and number of model/paper objects. Look for Drawing1 before the problem, with non-zero model objects. You can also check the copied dwg-doc-cache folder if needed.
    4. Use Save recovery NJC for the best candidate. Open that new file in Nasjicad, select Model, and inspect the layers, site layout and drainage details against your screenshot. Save As a NEW DWG filename; keep the NJC and all original backups.

We tested the helper with a 480-object saved drawing and an empty copy: it distinguishes them and downloads the full selected snapshot unchanged. The count alone cannot prove your drawing is complete, so please inspect the actual details or send us the relevant Drawing1 backup to check. We cannot recreate missing geometry from the preview image alone.

For private project backups, please use [email protected] (the support contact on our privacy page). Do not send account.json, login credentials or your entire application-data folder. We will attach a checked recovered drawing here if a complete source copy becomes available.

    Hi Abdelhak,

I have attached an improved recovery helper, NASJI-Local-Recovery-v2.zip. Please use this version in place of the earlier ZIP. It also decodes the binary files in dwg-doc-cache, which can contain a previously opened drawing even when a normal JSON reader cannot open them. We tested both ordinary backups and binary cache copies, including a 480-object drawing, while preserving drawing order, blocks and layers.

First keep a separate copy of %APPDATA%\nasjicad\versions and %APPDATA%\nasjicad\dwg-doc-cache. Extract the ZIP, open NASJI-Recovery.html in Chrome or Edge, and select the copied folders one at a time. It works offline and does not upload, overwrite or delete your files. Find a copy from before the loss, save it as a recovery NJC, open it in Nasjicad and select Model. Check the project details, then Save As a NEW DWG filename. Cache filenames may be anonymous, so inspect their dates and contents too.

This attachment is a recovery tool, not a recovered copy of your project. Your submitted DWG does not contain the complete model, so I cannot honestly say your full drawing has been recovered yet. If you find a likely NJC copy and want help checking it, send only that project copy to [email protected]. Please do not send account.json or login credentials.

We have reproduced and corrected a save defect involving switching to a Layout tab. The corrected desktop builds are being verified before release. I am sorry for the disruption and will keep this investigation open until we know what can be recovered.

    Hi Abdelhak,

Thank you for confirming that the recovery tool restored your drawing and that you can continue working. Please keep the recovered file and the copied backup folder in their separate safe locations.

Nasjicad 1.0.38 is now available. It fixes the saving defect we reproduced when a Layout tab was active and strengthens file saves and local version history. After saving your recovered work, use the Updates button beside the command search to install it. The Windows installer is also available here:
    https://nasji.com/downloads/Nasjicad-1.0.38-win-x64.exe

We are sorry for the disruption and appreciate your screenshot and confirmation. You do not need to publish your recovered project to this thread. If anything is still missing, you can reply here or contact [email protected] privately.
