About this block

The block shows a pair of leaves opening 90 degrees to the same side, each with a quarter arc, meeting at a centre line; the jambs are drawn as small rectangles and the wall continues as long stubs to either side. It is a single block definition, AP0E08, of 26 lines and 8 arcs on layer A-Door, spanning 5.2 by 1.2 drawing units. The leaves are about 1.2 units long, so read in metres it is a 2.4 m wide double door.

This is the standard double-door symbol for main entrances, halls and wide internal openings in plans at 1:50 and 1:100. Insert it with the centre of the opening on your door axis, trim the wall between the stubs, and scale by 1000 for millimetre drawings. Mirror the block about the wall line to flip the swing direction, and use the 180-degree version in this category when the leaves fold back flat.

Questions

How wide are the leaves?

About 1.2 drawing units each, giving a 2.4 m clear opening if read in metres. Scale non-uniformly if you need narrower leaves.

Do the leaves swing both ways?

No, they open to one side only. For double-acting or 180-degree swings, see Door CAD Blocks 02 and 05 in this category.
