About this block
A bearded man in a jacket sits on a plain side chair with his legs crossed, holding an open newspaper in both hands. A round café table on a single splayed leg stands next to him and a cup with three curls of steam sits on the top. Chair, table and cup are all part of the same block reference, which covers 1.86 by 1.34 m and carries the layers TF1 and supurgelik, the Turkish word for skirting board.
Whole vignettes like this are for interior elevations and sections of cafés, hotel lobbies, waiting rooms and libraries drawn at 1:20 and 1:50, where an empty chair says nothing about how a room will be used. The table top lands at about 0.75 m and the seat at 0.45 m, so the drawing doubles as a check on the heights of the furniture you are specifying.
Explode the block once if you have already drawn your own chairs and tables: the figure lifts out cleanly and can be reblocked on its own with the base point under the front chair leg. Plot the whole vignette in a thin pen so the newspaper hatching does not read as heavily as the wall lines behind it, and freeze the layer for the setting-out drawings.
