About this block

Two 600 mm deep legs meet at a mitred corner: a 1.31 m leg carrying the sink and a 2.23 m leg carrying the hob, a footprint of 2.24 by 2.67 m in all. The sink is drawn as a 490 by 1,260 mm inset with two rounded bowls, an 82 mm waste in each and six drainer grooves above them. The hob covers 760 by 440 mm with two 164 mm rings and cross-shaped pan supports. Forty-two entities sit on layers 0 and NOI THAT.

This is the corner kitchen of a small apartment, with the sink under a window on the short leg and cooking on the return. Use it whole at 1:50 to test whether a 2.2 by 2.7 m corner will take a working kitchen, and at 1:100 in a flat-layout sheet where each unit is repeated. Below the sink leg a dashed 680 by 600 mm rectangle marks the space for an under-counter appliance such as a dishwasher.

That dashed rectangle uses the HIDDEN linetype. If it plots as a solid outline, load HIDDEN into your drawing and set LTSCALE to about 0.02 for a file drawn in metres, or 20 for one in millimetres. NOI THAT is Vietnamese for interior furnishing, so remap it to your joinery layer while layer 0 keeps the carcass lines. Nothing is blocked, which means you can drag the hob along the run without exploding anything.

Questions

Why is one rectangle drawn in dashes?

It marks an appliance under the counter, drawn with the HIDDEN linetype so it reads as concealed. Load that linetype and set LTSCALE if it plots solid.

What does NOI THAT mean?

It is Vietnamese for interior furnishing. The original drafter used it for the sink, hob and appliance linework.
