Lighting CAD Blocks — Chandeliers, Lamps and Street Poles

Eight files, and the level of drawing is unusually fine for lighting. The largest is a chandelier and lamp catalogue of 83,398 entities, 26,420 of them splines that follow the curve of every arm and shade. A single contemporary chandelier holds 2,384 entities, a chandelier module 8,452 with 5,358 arcs, and a floor lamp 1,432. At the other end sits a bedroom wall lamp of 34 entities, light enough to sit in a room plan. Outdoors is covered by a solar lamp and pole sheet of 18,482 entities and a street-lamp accessories sheet of 8,295.

Decorative fittings are drawn for elevations and reflected ceiling plans at 1:20 to 1:50, where the outline of a pendant against the ceiling grid is the drawing. The pole and street-lamp sheets suit external works at 1:200 and 1:500, reduced to a symbol if the plot is small. Spline-heavy fittings slow a file down once several are placed, so define one as a block and copy the insert rather than the geometry, and keep a plain circle on a second layer for small-scale plots.
